# How your Guests get SMS Text Message Notifications

| **Note: ** In order for your group members to receive SMS notifications described below, you must first [enable this optional paid feature](https://help.socialglow.com/en/article/how-do-sms-notifications-work-1g5f9ak/).

# How Your Guests get Notified via SMS Text Messages

When a new group member creates their free SocialGlow account, they are given the option provide their phone number to be used for SMS notifications (text messages sent directly to their phone).

## For group members who have [enabled this option](https://help.socialglow.com/en/article/receiving-sms-text-message-notifications-gmcquu/?bust=1681127808722), they will receive a text reminder at:

* The start time of your Group, if this was added when creating the group
* The time of any [Events](https://help.socialglow.com/en/article/calendar-events-uyft1l/) you had added to that Group.
