EGiving Donations

EGiving Donations

This guide will cover how to add a Donate function to your groups. This allows your members to donate to the fund of your choosing.



Choose your preferred method


From your SocialGlow dashboard menu, select EGiving.



There are two options available:


  1. Accept EGiving in the SocialGlow App

Use this option if wanting to use SocialGlow to host your fundraiser.


  1. Redirect to External Link.

Use this option if you are using another platform to host your fundraiser.



We will cover each of these options in-depth below.


Option 1) Accept EGiving in the SocialGlow App


  1. This option requires being connected with Stripe, in order to process funds received.


Stripe is a widely-used payment service provider. If you are unfamiliar with them, you can read about and sign up on Stripe's website.



  • Click the Connect with Stripe button
  • Follow this guide on connecting your SocialGlow account to your Stripe account: How to Connect to Stripe


Note: After applying to connect to Stripe, a Pending Verification notice will be seen here. It may take 2-3 business days for Stripe to approve your application, after which will be a Connected to Stripe notice.

  • Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.


  1. Add Categories (optional)

This is helpful if you want your members to be able to select which category they prefer to donate their funds toward.


  • Select the Funds tab at the top of this same page.
  • Enter the title of the category you want to add.
  • Click the Add Funds button to save this title.



  • Continue to add as many categories as you would like here.




  • Enter the link that you want your members to be directed to donate.
  • Click the Save button to save your progress.




Members' View


Your group members will notice a Donate button at the top of each of your groups.




When the Donate button is clicked:


  1. If your EGiving is set up through Stripe (Option #1 discussed above), a window will pop up. The member will fill out:
  • The frequency of the gift
  • The amount of the gift
  • If they want to cover the transaction fee (if unselected, the transaction fee will be deducted from the gift total)
  • The fund they want to donate to, if categories were created



  1. If your EGiving is set up through an eternal link, they will be directed to the link you had supplied and can choose to donate there.


Group members are able to edit or cancel recurring gifts at any time.


Review Funds Received

As the admin of your groups, you are able to review any transactions made, and any active recurring subscriptions. To view these:


  1. From your SocialGlow dashboard menu, select EGiving.

You'll notice you now have two new tabs - Subscriptions and Transactions.


  1. Select Subscriptions to review any scheduled recurring donations.



  1. Select Transactions to review any donations already made.
