Notification Settings / Preferences
When you join a SocialGlow Group, you have the option to enable different kinds of notifications
We understand the importance of providing Notifications for you to stay informed! We also know that folks have different ways they prefer to be notified, so we've offered several options with the ability to select which types you want to use.
Types of notifications available
- Mobile App
- Push notifications
- SMS Text
- Digest notifications
Mobile App
We have a free SocialGlow mobile app, available in the App Store and Google Play store. This is the ideal option, for ease of use and to stay up-to-date on the go. This option would include being notified of new posts, replies to your comments, and if you are tagged in a post or comment.
SMS Text
Your group's admin may opt to send SMS (text) notifications when there is an event that is about to start.
You would not receive a text message for new posts, comments, or tags.
With this option, you would receive an email when a group you are in has an event that is about to start.
This would not include being notified of new posts, comments, or tags.
Push (Web Browser)
This option would enable notifications through your web browser, and would include being notified of new posts, replies to your comments, and if you are tagged in a post or comment.
Digest
This is compilation of all group notifications, sent as an email. The frequencies available are hourly / daily / weekly / never, and can be changed at the bottom of the email received.
How to change your notification settings or preferences
You can edit your preferences and the type of notifications you receive at anytime.
From the SocialGlow mobile app:
- Navigate to the group you want to change your your preferences for.
- You can do this by clicking on that group name as it appears on your newsfeed.
- Or, click the Groups icon from the bottom taskbar, and select the name of the group you want to edit your preferences for.
- Click the 3-line icon in the top corner of the screen.
- Select the Notification Settings tab.
- You can toggle on/off your preferred settings from there.
From the website:
- Log into your SocialGlow account at https://app.socialglow.com/login
- Select the name of the group you want to change your preferences for.
- Click the gear icon beside the group's title.
- Select the Notification settings tab.
- Toggle on/off your preferred settings.
