How to send a screen recording
If you notice something isn't working properly while using the SocialGlow mobile app or website, our support team would be happy to help!
While troubleshooting with you, we may ask for a screen recording of what you're experiencing. This can help our team diagnose what could be happening, and determine how best to solve the problem.
The most universal way to record your screen is to use Loom. Loom is a free tool that allows you to easily share your screen recording using a link. This can be done from mobile devices and computers, and we'll include the steps for both below.
While following the next steps, your device may ask you to confirm different permissions along the way, not pictured here. You'll want to accept these, so it's allowed to capture your screen recording.
From a mobile device (phones and tablets):
Download the free Loom mobile app from either the App Store or Google Play Store.
Open the Loom app and either create a free account, or log in to your existing account (if you've used Loom before).
Click the Loom icon in the lower corner
Select the Screen option at the very bottom, then click the Record screen button
The following screen may pop up - if so, toggle the Loom option on
Your screen is now recording. While it is running, open your SocialGlow mobile app to illustrate exactly where you are having trouble there. When you're finished, click the Stop button to end the recording.
Your Loom app will re-open, showing the recording you just made at the very top. Click the Share icon.
Your screen may look a bit differently than pictured below, depending on your device. Look for the option to Copy Link/ Copy URL.
You can then paste that link in your chat reply to the SocialGlow support member assisting you.
From a computer or laptop:
Go to https://www.loom.com/
Either create a free account, or log in to your existing account (if you've used Loom before).
Click Record a Video
A smaller window will pop up. You'll want to make sure to select the option to record your screen here. Then, click Start recording.
Your screen is now recording. While it is running, go to the SocialGlow website to illustrate exactly where you are having trouble there.
A control panel will show on the lefthand side of your screen. When you're finished, click the Stop button to end the recording.
A new window will open, showing the recording you just made. Click the 3-dot icon at the top and select Copy Link.
You can then paste that link in your chat reply to the SocialGlow support member assisting you.
