How to start a group chat

Communicate with all members of your group at once.

Enable Group Chat

Before you can start a group chat, you have to enable this feature in that group's settings.

Navigate to your Group Settings

From your SocialGlow dashboard, click Groups.

Locate the name of the group you're wanting to edit, and click the Group Settings icon to the far right.

Select the Step 2 tab at the top of the page

Under the Member Settings section, toggle on the switch for Enable Group Chat.

Click the Save button at the bottom of this page to save your changes.

Tip: There's a Mute Group Chat toggle on the same page, where you can mute all group chat notifications. Members can still chat there, but they will no longer receive notifications of new messages made in that chat.

Locate your group chat

From the mobile app, navigate to the group you're creating a group chat for.

Click the Groups icon from the bottom taskbar.

Click on the name of the group.

Click the Group Chat text shown near the top of the group.

From here, you'll be able to send the first message in that group chat. Messages can include text, pictures, or voice memo.

After following those steps, this group chat will be listed in the Chats section of the app.

Click the Chats icon from the bottom taskbar.

Click on the name of the group chat.

Messages sent here will be visible to all group members.

You and the members of the group can all participate in this group chat.
